A 28 year old Manitowoc woman has been arrested after she had a tow company take a vehicle from the parking lot of Quality Service Repair on Wednesday of last week that did not belong to her. Police were called to the 2907 Custer Street location just after 2:00 PM on July 4th on a report of vehicle theft. A review of the surveillance video showed that a tow truck pulled into the lot, and a woman exited the truck to assist a man hitch the 1984 GMC Truck up to the tow truck. After the individuals were identified, they were questioned and it was determined that a woman had the pair take the vehicle, and told them that she was going to sell it to them for scrapping purposes. That woman did not own the vehicle. The woman was found with help from her parole officer, and was taken into custody on Friday. She is now facing charges of misdemeanor theft by fraud, and felony bail jumping.
