The Cardinals scored five runs in the fourth inning as they cruised past the Brewers 8-2 at Miller Park. Jhoulys Chacin surrendered eight runs across four-and-a-third innings to take the loss. Chacin spoke about his first bad outing of the year.
Mangaer Craig Counsell had a few words to say on the pitching as well.
Christian Yelich hit his 10th homer as the Brewers fell to 45-and-32. Counsell is not pleased with how streaky the offence has been.
The Crew still leads the -NL Central by two games over the Cubs. The Brewers are off today (Monday). They will open a two-game set with the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night. Righthander Freddy Peralta will start opposite K-C righthander Jakob Junis.
