Many successful people, whether it be in athletics or business, go through peaks and valleys in their lifetime. 2015 Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduate and Iowa State University Track & Field athlete, Eric Fogltanz, is no exception. The junior hurdler and sprinter for the Cyclones suffered a pretty bad hamstring injury last year during the NCAA Indoor meet and missed the outdoor season. Fogltanz recovered and was healthy for his outdoor season this spring and promptly qualified for the NCAA championships at Eugene, Oregon in the 400-meter hurdles & the 4-by-400 relay. Eric talked with Seehafer News earlier this week.
Fogltanz said his goal entering the championships last weekend was to break the 50-second barrier in the hurdles.
The son of Don and Mary Fogltanz of Manitowoc is scheduled to travel to Des Moines, Iowa to compete again in the 400-hurdles next week at the U.S. Track Championships. Eric is majoring in Graphic Design at Iowa State.
